Nigeria Expansion Specialist at One Acre Fund
One Acre Fund Nigeria is among our fastest-growing countries of operation. Our goal is to support at least 50% of Nigerian farming households in developing resilient farming practices and diversifying their income sources through agriculture. We are active in 3 states and aim to expand to 8-10 states by 2030.
About the Role
The expansion specialist will oversee efforts to identify new products, services, and states to accelerate progress toward our vision. You will develop strategies and plans to extend our reach to new regions, helping hundreds of thousands of farmers annually. The Expansion Lead will work alongside program leaders to lead these initiatives and will report to the Program Division Lead.
Responsibilities
- Build a long-term strategy for expansion to new areas.
- Translate high-level strategy into actionable annual expansion plans
- Coordinate expansion decision-making and implementation across departments.
- Design and trial existing products/services in new states, and pilot new products/services in states.
- Manage communication of main decisions and priorities across all teams, from senior leadership to field staff.

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
- 5 years+ experience in business development, expansion or related field and 3 years+ experience leading teams and collaborating across multiple departments**.**
- 3 years+ track records of expanding into new markets and driving revenue or farmer growth.
- You have enthusiasm for learning, feedback, and continuous improvement.
- You are willing to be based in rural areas for project durations of up to 18 months, followed by reassignment to another rural location.
- Fluency in multiple languages with a focus on languages spoken in target markets like Hausa.
