Program Overview
The 2026 Graduate Trainee Program is a six-month immersive internship designed to attract passionate graduates eager to contribute to the growth of agribusiness and sustainable development in Nigeria.
Trainees will engage in practical, hands-on learning experiences, collaborating with communities and businesses to design and implement solutions that enhance livelihoods and strengthen resilience.
Participants will gain exposure to a range of development-focused roles, including partnership development, project implementation support, and startup and technology management, while working with a dynamic team of development professionals.
Key Areas of Focus
1. Partnerships Development
Trainees will:
- Identify and cultivate partnerships and collaborations to drive growth and engagement with stakeholders.
- Conduct financial and non-financial due diligence and present investment opportunities.
- Manage proposal pipelines, including technical development, drafting, narrative review, and finalization.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and support donor engagement.
- Meet with potential partners and investors to present company offerings and negotiate agreements.
2. Project Implementation Support
Trainees will:
- Support the management and implementation of development projects to ensure goals are achieved.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and ensure transparent communication.
- Produce timely reports on project status, analyze risks, and manage resources.
- Coordinate multiple interdependent projects and liaise with local and international partners.
- Identify rural market opportunities and design intervention strategies for market development.
3. Startup and Technology Management
Trainees will:
- Evaluate new business models to create value and competitive advantage.
- Assess market opportunities and innovation feasibility within the agricultural ecosystem.
- Develop product strategies, competitive analyses, roadmaps, and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs).

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Hold a First Class or Second Class Upper degree in Engineering, Sciences, Project Management, Finance/Investment, Business Management, Economics, or related fields.
- Reside in Abuja, FCT.
- Be 22–30 years old.
- Demonstrate commitment to improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
- Possess exceptional research, writing, and presentation skills, along with strong interpersonal skills, creativity, attention to detail, and empathy.
- Have experience managing a small business, working in a startup, or relevant exposure in investment banking, venture capital, or private equity.
- Be a self-starter with project management and leadership experience.
- Demonstrate the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and own workstreams within projects.
- Exhibit strong teamwork and leadership capabilities.
