Program Overview

The 2026 Graduate Trainee Program is a six-month immersive internship designed to attract passionate graduates eager to contribute to the growth of agribusiness and sustainable development in Nigeria.

Trainees will engage in practical, hands-on learning experiences, collaborating with communities and businesses to design and implement solutions that enhance livelihoods and strengthen resilience.

Participants will gain exposure to a range of development-focused roles, including partnership development, project implementation support, and startup and technology management, while working with a dynamic team of development professionals.

Key Areas of Focus

1. Partnerships Development

Trainees will:

• Identify and cultivate partnerships and collaborations to drive growth and engagement with stakeholders.
• Conduct financial and non-financial due diligence and present investment opportunities.
• Manage proposal pipelines, including technical development, drafting, narrative review, and finalization.
• Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and support donor engagement.
• Meet with potential partners and investors to present company offerings and negotiate agreements.

2. Project Implementation Support

Trainees will:

• Support the management and implementation of development projects to ensure goals are achieved.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings and ensure transparent communication.
• Produce timely reports on project status, analyze risks, and manage resources.
• Coordinate multiple interdependent projects and liaise with local and international partners.
• Identify rural market opportunities and design intervention strategies for market development.

3. Startup and Technology Management

Trainees will:

• Evaluate new business models to create value and competitive advantage.
• Assess market opportunities and innovation feasibility within the agricultural ecosystem.
• Develop product strategies, competitive analyses, roadmaps, and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs).

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Hold a First Class or Second Class Upper degree in Engineering, Sciences, Project Management, Finance/Investment, Business Management, Economics, or related fields.
• Reside in Abuja, FCT.
• Be 22–30 years old.
• Demonstrate commitment to improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
• Possess exceptional research, writing, and presentation skills, along with strong interpersonal skills, creativity, attention to detail, and empathy.
• Have experience managing a small business, working in a startup, or relevant exposure in investment banking, venture capital, or private equity.
• Be a self-starter with project management and leadership experience.
• Demonstrate the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and own workstreams within projects.
• Exhibit strong teamwork and leadership capabilities.
