Minimum Qualifications
FH Kenya is seeking a Program Manager who brings both technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate would demonstrate:
- 5–7 years of experience in program management, financial management, and compliance.
- Experience in social innovation, MSME development, or related fields.
- Strong expertise in:
- Human-centered design
- Design research
- Design thinking methodologies
- Experience coordinating with development stakeholders, including:
- Government agencies
- Sector working groups
- International and local NGOs
- Private and institutional donors
- Demonstrated success leading and supervising multi-functional teams.
- A Bachelor’s degree in:
- Development studies
- Social sciences
- Business administration
- Agricultural sciences
- Environmental or resilience programming
- A postgraduate qualification in:
- Project management
- Development studies
- Business innovation
- Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
is considered an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
The Program Manager will provide strategic leadership and ensure successful execution of diverse program activities. Responsibilities include:
Program Planning and Management
- Lead end-to-end program planning processes.
- Oversee implementation of activities to ensure alignment with program goals.
- Monitor progress to ensure quality, effectiveness, and accountability.
Strengthening Social Innovation
- Introduce and manage innovations that enhance program impact.
- Promote approaches that support MSME growth and community resilience.
- Integrate design thinking and human-centered design into program cycles.
Strategic Partnerships and Business Development
- Build and maintain partnerships with donors, NGOs, and government partners.
- Represent FH Kenya in sectoral working groups and strategic forums.
- Contribute to resource mobilization and proposal development.
Program Documentation, Reporting, and M&E
- Ensure timely and accurate program reporting.
- Strengthen documentation of lessons learned and best practices.
- Support Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks to drive data-guided decisions.
Financial, Procurement, and Risk Management
- Provide oversight of budgets, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Ensure procurement practices align with organisational standards.
- Identify and mitigate program risks through proactive management.
Leadership, Culture, and Talent Development
- Support development of team capacity and performance.
- Foster a values-centered culture that reflects FH’s Heartbeat Values.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and leadership guidance to staff.
