We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Field Agronomist

Location: Cross River

Job Description

• Conduct plant nutrition (Fertilizer and Agronomy) trials/demonstration at Farmer field with proper SOP implementation
• Field Implementation/organization of mega to group farmer training/farm days initiatives and effective communication/education of Agronomic best management practices to farmers from seed, fertilizer, agrochemicals, application with 4 R principles to post harvest technologies and commodity prices to increase farm income.
• Collection of soil sample, analysis and recommendation to the concerned farmer
• Train farmers, local govt or private farm agronomist, extension officers etc on advanced crop production technologies, fertilizer management techniques, 4 R (Right rate, place, time and product) seed and agrochemical application.
• Advisory/Training to farmers in meetings/crop shows/ Conf./ exhibitions, trade fairs and personal visit
• Liason with Trade as Techno commercial face eg Agro-dealers/retailers, Development agencies, university/extension agencies/NGO and Govt officials
• Communication of Promotional activities programs in respective area
• Communication of promotional literatures, ideas, initiatives
• Collection of Filed data on soil testing, demo trials, farmers data etc using assigned formats
• Collection of local data of Cultivated area, fertilizer consumption, fertilizer prices and commodity prices

Qualifications Essential Desirable

• Msc in Soil science, Crop production and Agronomy with 2 to 5 years working experiences in Agriculture Sector

• Candidate with MSc in crop/soil science
• Has proper understanding of EFIK Language
