Request for Expression of Interest: Strengthening the Macadamia Nut Export value chain in Rwanda
International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is pleased to launch this request for expression of interest (REOI) to select private sector partners for a prospective ELPS intervention to strengthen the macadamia nut export value chain in Rwanda.
The Enhanced Linkages between Private sector and Small-scale producers (ELPS) initiative, launched by Japan in 2023 and implemented by IFAD, aims to forge partnerships between large corporations in the Global North and small-scale producers in the Global South to promote more sustainable and productive farming practices. As the implementing agency, IFAD leverages its extensive networks with rural communities and farmers to connect them to private sector companies.
The prospective intervention will address challenges and opportunities related to macadamia nut production in Rwanda. With this REOI, IFAD aims to engage with food, agriculture and trading companies active in global agricultural supply chains that are interested in exploring partnerships under the ELPS initiative. Companies operating in these sectors that are prepared to contribute resources to support macadamia nut farmers, enhance their livelihoods and promote sustainable production practices are invited to apply.
